It was one great night of fine food, awards, hip and hot entertainment and a whole lot of dancing sums up the 25th Anniversary of Lacto-B Yakult of Central Luzon. The event brought guests from all over the Philippines and Japan. Mr.ROBERT TORRES the man behind the success of the Central Luzon distribution of Yakult was truly happy and overwhelmed with pride to see so many of the Yakult Ladies and employees gathered for the grand event. Some of the special guests were MR. ALBERT R. DY SUN – President, MR. AKIRA ONOSE – Executive Vice-President , MR. KENJI EGAMI – Special Project Manager, MR. ALDRIN DY SUN – Director & Sales Planning Manager , MR. MICHAEL ONG – Director & Sales Planning Manager, MR. ALTEO MARTINEZ – Sales Manager, Provincial Dealers Department (PDD).

During the event, the company unveiled its newest corporate video to the amazement and applause of the guests. It was inspiring and carried the message of good health for all. To keep the guests and VIP’s entertained; Michelle O Bombshell and PGMA was asked to perform and they had everybody in stitches. After that the Yakult Ladies were hyper ventilating to the Maskulados Dos who sang a total of five songs. They had the ladies up and about during their entire performance.

Awards were given out that night to the Yakult Ladies who have stayed with the company for years. But the award for 25 years service went to ANGELES CENTER‘s MRS. ELVIRA BANGIT, who gave an emotional and heart warming speech. For the EMPLOYEE SERVICE AWARD, this went to MRS. ERNITA T. ESCASINAS of OTALCO OFFICE for her 23 years of service to the company. Raffle prizes were given out to the lucky guests present that night, plus PGMA and Michelle O Bombshell did an impromptu beauty pageant with some Yakult ladies who gamely joined.

But the night was punctuated with the spirited dancing of all the employees and the Yakult Ladies. In an opening production number they showed just how united they were as a team. Then again at the end of the program, after the spirited speech of Mary Anne Torres, they showed of their terpsichorean prowess to the delight of everyone at the Jasmine Hall of the Fontana Convention Center. It was a grand night for Yakult and Lacto-B of Central Luzon. Special thanks to the following suppliers for making it a fabulous evening: Pancho Pantig of Plumeria for the venue styling, STL lights and Sounds, The Quintah Band for the entertainment, Bai Capture for the photo booth, DDL Homemade Cakes for the giant anniversary cake, Jenny Imbag-Rivera and Von Gibran of Fontana, and of course, the dynamic team of Events and Concepts.

IN THE KNOW by Voltaire Zalamea
PUNTO! Central Luzon: Aug.10-11, 2011 issue, page 8
photos by Robert “Kqentors” Canlas

Magic happens in the most unexpected ways. For Melvin Dimalanta, meeting his future wife in a friend’s birthday party was a trick of fate, and a good one at that. Melvin took his cue and didn’t waver in his ardent pursuit of Stephanie Quinto. The road they travelled in their time spent as boyfriend and girlfriend was just like everybody else, full of highs and lows. But in the case of these two, the highs were more prominent. So much so that during one dinner date Melvin proposed during dessert and topped a cake with an engagement ring for Stephanie. Smooth move that was highly appreciated by Stephanie and of course she accepted.

Fast forward to April 9, 2011, Melvin will find himself waiting in front of the altar at theLord’s Transfiguration Parish Church. The mode is ebullient and smiles are on everyone’s faces. The aisle is beautifully decorated with flowers by Pancho Pantig of Plumeria. Voce De Angeli under the baton of Eric Robert Santos provided the heavenly music as Stephanie walked into the church, radiant in her nuptial make up by Francois Roxas and so lovely in her Frederick Policarpio gown. Capturing everything for posterity was the team ofKquentors Multimedia.

Making this special day possible was done through a lot of research and help especially from the mom of the couple. When asked how they managed it since they were both in Dubai, the candidly answered, “Mom helped us a lot in preparing and of course, we hired the best wedding coordinator in Pampanga, Voltaire.” Of course I have to laugh but then again it’s a job I love to do, especially when the couple is as nice and these two.

The couple also added that it helped a lot that they got suppliers who are well known in Pampanga and they have proven that they can deliver the wedding the couple wanted. They also showed and demonstrated their products and services to them. This closed the deal for them. From the invitations provided by the Oops Shop, the mobile bar from Ignition Mobile Bar, the reception singers– Paolo Lopez and the Quintah Band to the grand reception venue, the Grand Palazzo Royale. Everything worked like clockwork during the wedding day of Melvin and Steph.

What has the couple to say of their special day? “Our wedding was so special and memorable because everything went as planned, perhaps more than we expected and we stunned the audience by our dance number. It was a perfect wedding.” At the end of it all the couple had a grand time with me and the Events and Concepts team at the Bai Capture photo booth.

When asked what’s the best tip they could give couples who are abroad and are planning their wedding? The responded, saying, “Hire the best coordinator, Voltaire. He will guide you all the way to your dream wedding”. That made me blush!

You know love is right when you find it in the least expected place and time. For Jeremy Sun and Clarise Limjoco, this proved true. They were not introduced as most are, their paths crossed in the most usual way, a chance meeting.

Jeremy and his friends frequented a coffee shop own by a couple of friends in near the Clark Amusement Center. Their almost daily visits would see Jeremy’s life change in the most fascinating way. He saw of a glimpse of her, Clarise was working in her pizza store just a few stalls away and Jeremy was instantly smitten by the pretty girl. So much so that he went running back to his friends and told them about her. So they all ended up watching her and they all agreed that she was pretty. So they all planned to formally introduce themselves to her that night, they waited for her to close shop and actually followed her and one of her friends to Balibago. There they finally got the chance to meet the lovely lass.

This of course was just the start of the whole story. Like any love affair it has its ups and down but this couple weathered it all beautifully. Till Jeremy decided to end their boyfriend – girlfriend relationship, he wanted something more permanent with the pretty Clarise. So he orchestrated a elaborate plan to get her to Fontana, thinking it was a Christmas party she would be attending. When she arrived Jeremy was ready to sweep her off her feet completely. He had the entire villa set up with rose petals at the driveway, candlelight everywhere, white balloons, a slide show of their pictures together and “When God Made You” for background music. Jeremy went on one knee and told Clarise, “Will you make me the happiest man and marry me?” Of course, given the ambience and the sincerity of the moment, Clarise said ye and she went home with a diamond engagement ring on her hand that night.

Now the bride was pretty busy herself being the Marketing and Sales Manager of Viewmont Homes and a business woman too. The groom is the president of Suncare lending Investors Inc. And a Engineer consultant. They also spent some time looking for the caterer they wanted and they took some time off to find they’re choice. They went as far as Marikina but both said they didn’t get lost in their search and got to their appointment on time with a help of a map. So this couple can definitely join The Amazing Race and just might win!

But being both super busy they asked me to handle their wedding. This big day could not have happened without a great team of experts beside me. We pow wowed with their caterer, JOSIAHS CATERING. The fabulous gown of the bride was created by JOJO MACAPINLAC while the barong of the groom was done by PRINCE ALBERT.
They were both made incredibly gorgeous that day by the hair and make-up team of COIFFEUR by Rolan “Bok” Cayanan. Styling the Lewis Grand Hotel Ballroom and the St.Joseph the Worker Chapel was florist/ event stylist MICHAEL “BADANG” RUEDA. Our amazing photographer, MICHELLE PINEDA-PASTORIL OF SPLIT IMAGE was also enchanted with the entire night that it brought back memories of her own wedding day. She was so inspired that the photography was breath taking. The videographer, IAN CRUZ had so much material to used and so many great clips that his video wowed the crowd and the couple. The invitations the couple sent their guests were crafted by QP DESIGNS. The souvenirs & stationery were made for the couple by Karen Flores of OOOPS SHOP. The fantabulous cake was designed by artist JUDY USON. The music during the ceremony was provided by the STRING MINSTRELS while the FORT REPUBLIC & CHOCOLATE FACTORY let it loose for the reception and after party.
JANUARY 29, 2011 will be fondly remembered by their principal sponsors as it was something spectacular in their lives. The ninongs and ninangs, Mr. Wilfredo M. Ng, Mr. Primo L. David, Engr. Enrico M. Limjoco, Mr. Edgardo P. De Guzman, Dr. Florante M. Magalang, Mr. Judy S. Sun, Mrs. Anita T. David, Mrs. Eloisa D. Sarmiento, Mrs. Arleen M Manuson, Sr. Eloisa L.David, O.S.B., Mrs. Teresita L. Reyes and Ms. Myrna S. Pamintuan enjoyed the night just as much as the happy parent of both the bride and the groom, ALMA DAVID LIMJOCO & NAPOLEON MAGLALANG LIMJOCO and WILFREDO SISON SUN & ELEANOR MUSNI SUN

The couple had one thing in mind in our conversations about what they wanted for their wedding they were very definite in that since its a once in a lifetime event, they wanted to make the most out of it by making it something out of the ordinary to make it memorable. And I think with the help of all the suppliers, Events and Concepts managed to give Jeremy and Clarise what they envisioned. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Randolph Manuguid and Nina Pinlac knew each other from way back when they were in their teens. They both attended secondary school at Sacred Heart Academy in Guagua (now St. Mary’s Academy). But after high school their paths never crossed again. It was as if God wanted them to grow first before putting them back together. Eventually, as if predestined, they did meet again.

In early 2008, Nina met Randolph again through Friendster. Randolph actually didn’t recognized Nina’s profile picture. Amusingly to Nina, he sent her a private message, saying “Hi! By the way, I’m Randolph”. Flabbergasted Nina replied, “Are you crazy? Of course I know you! That’s why I added you to my account”. From that day, they never stopped texting, chatting via yahoo messenger and eventually they started formally dating.

This wasn’t easy for the couple. Nina worked as a nurse in the University of Santo Tomas Hospital in Manila and Randolph was based in Pampanga. They both had to adjust their busy schedules to accommodate each other. Then Randolph started asking Nina to marry him all the time.

In 2009, Nina got pregnant and marriage popped in Randolph’s mind again. But Nina decided not to get married until after the baby was born. Their relationship went through a lot of ups and downs. Nina had a difficult pregnancy and their baby was born way too early, hence was quite sickly. That alone was a terrific struggle on the part of the two. Then to aggravate the situation Nina had to leave for Canada in August 2009, so once again their wedding plans were put aside.

Their relationship became long distance. But thanks to Skype and other modern technological miracles, their relationship survived. It was funny though that Randolph had not yet said anything about a formal proposal, but they had already decided to have a civil marriage by January 2011 though both of our parents wanted a church wedding.

The Proposal

When Nina finally came home, she hoped that Randolph would make a formal proposal. Impatiently she waited but nothing happened, Nina gave him the cold shoulder treatment saying, “I really thought he had no plans of putting an engagement ring on my finger. Then it started to annoy me more when he kept on putting an invisible ring on my finger all the time.” The bride revealed.

A few days before the wedding, Randolph grabbed her hand again so she coldly told him she would not push through with the wedding if he kept on putting an invisible ring on her finger. At that time they were at the parking lot of Marquee Mall, and then he shocked her when he put a real ring on her finger. She was really surprised and happy. Then he told her, “Kasal tana king Wednesday ne?”

Wedding Planning
The first person who Nina contacted was me and I got the Events and Concepts Team geared up for this special wedding. This was just a week before Christmas. She asked for help for their wedding. She sent me an email with the title, HELP! Nina even forgot that she didn’t even mention what help she needed exactly. She just realized then the enormous requirements that were needed for a church wedding especially in St.James Parish Church in Betis, Guagua.

With barely six weeks of planning a church wedding, it was quite a struggle. All the transactions were made online. Nina and Randolph actually wanted an early morning wedding, but I made Nina realized just how difficult it would be for her, Randolph and everyone.
The Dream Team

Randolph did food tasting with a few of the caterers Nina inquired within Pampanga. Being very feisty with food, he was not impressed. Nina asked help from her W@W (Weddings@Work) friends, and they recommended K by Cunanan Catering. The staff were very accommodating. Randolph told me that we will just book with them, and he was happy with their food at the reception at the Pineda residence garden (a relative of the groom from San Fernando)

The gown Nina designed it herself, and then asked Imelda Lansang of Santa Rita to sew it for her. It was nothing fancy, the bride said, but just it was the way I wanted it to be. Randolph’s barong came from Onesimus. Nina’s hair styling and make up was fabulously done by image stylish Francois Roxas. The flowers of the entourage were created by the talented Dylan Gozum of Vatel Manila. Their chosen photographer was Paolo Feliciano complimented by an auxiliary photographer, J Lucas Reyes. For their videographer they chose the artistic Chug Cadiogan. The couple made sure they got the very best for their photo and video as they said this was the only thing aside from the rings that they would have years after. Invitation design was by Amber Manuguid and this was printed by Adworks. The souvenirs given out during the wedding were Rachibelli wines, wine chocolates, ferrero dark chocolates and items from Bath and Body Works. This was complemented with instant souvenir photos provided by Photomatic Photobooth. The wedding cakes ( yes cakes because she had 3) were masterpieces of Lailen’s Cakes and Pastries by Lai Mangio-Manalang.

During the wedding day Nina wore three pairs of shoes too. One pair was a royal blue Manolo Blahnik, a pair of dainty beige Jimmy Choo’s and her favourite yellow Lacoste pair she practically wore down. Nina’s love for shoes was also evident on her wedding cake as one of the three wedding cakes she had was topped with a replica of her Manolo Blahnik.

The bride’s parents, Edwin Pinlac and Thelma Pinlac together with the groom’s parents, Carmelino Manuguid and Virginia Manuguid thoroughly enjoyed the wedding. Their principal sponsors and entire entourage had so much fun with everything the couple prepared. This was evident with the releasing of the Sky Lanterns at the end of that night. Congratulations Nina and Randolph!

Photos by Robert Canlas of Kquentors

God has a plan for each and every one of us. He knows when it is time for us to meet the person who would be our partner in life. Take it from Jeffrey Cunanan and Winnie Pineda. These two have no history at all. They just met by chance and love made its move.

By coincidence or fate that one of Winnie’s friends had sent her a package from Canada, that was April 21, 2007 and the bearer of the package was Jeffrey. When they met it was an instant connection of a calm and cozy friendship. There were no fireworks to speak of, but they had a sense that this meeting had brought them something valuable. Winnie shared, “It took about three weeks of trying to know each other with the little time we could spend together. Call it cliche but the magic of it was, from the very start we were comfortable with each other’s company.”

But on May 10, 2007 Jeffrey had to leave for Canada again. Vacation was over and they both had to bid each other farewell. For most people that would have been that, just another beautiful meeting that didn’t amount to anything. But Jeffrey just couldn’t let Winnie go. He used every available technological means for him to get to keep in touch with her. His determination and persistence kept the budding friendship alive even if they were hundreds of miles apart. Winnie revealed, “He never got tired of sending messages thru text each & every single day that he was away. He made sure to call after work just to check on how my day went. He sets up date for us even only thru the internet.”

It was obvious to Winnie that Jeffrey wanted more than just a friendship. But she sincerely believed that long distance relationships don’t work, so she held back her blossoming feelings for Jeffrey. On his part Jeffrey did everything humanly possible to court Winnie. Distance and lack of physical presence was not a deterrent to him. He didn’t stop his attempts to woo Winnie. Then on March 31, 2008 because of his persistence and an on-line malfunction (though Winnie said it could have been that she couldn’t hold out any longer), Winnie gave Jeffrey her first yes to be officially his girlfriend.

Then on December 1, 2008 after a long 16 month separation, Jeffrey finally had the chance to come home to the Philippines. His reunion with Winnie was such a happy time for the both of them. Jeffrey pampered Winnie in every way possible, knowing that soon they would be separated again. It was at this time that Jeffrey pestered Winnie for an answer to his big question. Winnie at first was quite reluctant. She kept putting him off saying that when it feels right then he would get the answer to his question.

But Jeffrey secretly had already decided how it would go. So on December 25, 2008 they spent the whole of Christmas day together, lunch time would be spent with Jeffrey’s family and dinner time at Winnie’s. Just before Winnie stepped out of the car Jeffrey held her hand and asked her to stay put first. He took out a tiny box and right there in front of our house he popped the question at her. Winnie cried but gave him her second yes, that to be his bride.

Almost immediately after they started to plan the wedding as Jeffrey would be leaving for Canada after three 3 months. They met me over a year before their wedding date which was Febraury 05, 2011; this wedding was two years in the making and Events and Concepts was there for them the entire way, coordinating everything. They decided to have the wedding at the Lord’s Transfiguration Church in L&S Subdivision at have their reception at Lewis Grand Hotel. The choice of reception venue was mutual as both of them fell in love with the view from the balcony of Lewis Grand.

For their suppliers, Winnie decided to contract the services of Kquentors Creative Team for their photography and videography. She had worked with them during her sister’s wedding and was comfortable with the way they worked. For her gown she called on Marlon Tuazon to bring to life their Black and white motif. For her make-up Winnie worked with Rosa Clemente to make her look beautiful that day. Invitations and other paper needs she delegated to Karen Flores of Oops Shop! To provide the music for both ceremony and reception she sought out the Ang Koro. Fireworks were provided by Dragon Fireworks while the event styling was done by Bernard Dalusung of Country Blossoms. Bernard artistically used trees and live plants for aisle decoration instead of cut flowers.

The couple made sure to invest in the very best suppliers as they know that this is a once in a lifetime event and they want to enjoy every moment of it. They wanted it to be stress free and that is exactly what happened. They did away with the usual Entrance Parade of the Entourage and only the flower girl, the treasure bearer & the bride walked down the aisle. They also did away with the releasing of the dove, the throwing of the bridal bouquet, the garter & the wedding games. They opted for a simple & solemn ceremony and a fun & relax reception party where they mingled and interact with their guests.

They also thoroughly enjoyed the toast of Mr. Bryan Guzman. It turned out to be the biggest Wedding Surprise. Instead of just giving the usual speech, Bryan collaborated with six of their friends to give the couple a surprise song number. The song of choice was SUDDENLY by Olivia Newton John & Cliff Richard. Their effort was touching and that moment was truly the cherry on top of their wedding day.

Voltaire has been organizing events even during his high school days. He has the knack for making simple school programs to fabulous artistic presentations. It was during his collegiate years in San Beda where his talent blossomed and was recognized, he was asked to be part of a famous production team in Manila that organized fashion shows, product launchings, beauty pageants and other corporate events.

He experienced organizing events with the country’s best fashion designers, models, celebrities and corporate bigwigs. This enabled him to hone his craft and administer his passion for event organizing into realization.

During the Centennial Celebration of Philippine Independence in 1988, Voltaire worked as the Events Marketing Officer of Expo Pilipino in Clark Special Economic Zone. His team was responsible in managing and marketing all the events inside the theme park.

In Pampanga, Voltaire’s first big event as a show director was the Manhunt International-Philippines Region 3 Search in 1999. It was after this successful production when projects started coming in. Since then, Voltaire was asked to handle various corporate shows, fashion shows and beauty pageants.

Voltaire was asked by friends to manage various events like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Referrals started coming in, until Voltaire decided to make this as his career. A lot of satisfied clients started recommending Voltaire to their friends. So in 2003, he decided to official establish his own company—Events and Concepts (Professional Event Managers and Wedding Consultants).

It is the team’s fervor in making memorable events that made them one of the most sought after events managers and wedding consultants in the region.

PUNTO! Central Luzon April 26, 2009 Monday page 9

This is the first time that a Pet Dog Soiree was held at the Event Center of SM City Clark. The city-wide power interruption last April 18, 2009 paved the way for a lot of our “cabalens” to go to SM City Clark to escape the summer heat. Dog owners found out that there was an event going on for their dogs so some went back home to fetch their “babies” and bring them to the mall. Despite the lack of advertisement and promotion, Events and Concepts was able to gather 42 cute dogs, mostly lap and toy breeds.

The registration started as early as 11:00 am. The event featured free nail buffing and trimming, courtesy of PETBERO, the first Professional Pet Groomer in Pampanga. There was also a dog food buffet provided by PROPLAN super premium dog food. A veterinarian was also present to provide free check-up. Dr. Amiel Angeles from the Angeles Pet Care Clinic (located along Mc. Arthur Highway, Dau, Mbalacat, Pampanga) was there to entertain all questions about proper pet care.

The whole afternoon was filled with fun games for both dogs and their owners. Games like “doggie dash” and dog food eating contest were enjoyed by the crowd. Raffle prizes were also given away to lucky winners. The highlight of the event was the “Dog Fashion Show wherein 21 dogs participated in fabulous costumes and the winners were judged by Dr. Amiel Angeles, Dr. Alwin Anicete—a Veterinarian and a photographer, and costume accessory designer Cholo Ayuyao.

Because of the success of this pilot activity, Maricel Asif, the very brilliant Marketing Officer of SM City Clark plans to hold this activity every three months.

So to all dog owners and dog lovers, watch out for more fun activities for us and our “babies” happening at the Event Center of SM City Clark.

*******

PETBERO is located Along Mc. Arthur Highway, Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga. For appointment, you may reach them at 0905-3552404/ 0906-4257633 or log on to www.petbero.multiply.com. Petbero is also an exclusive distributor of PROPLAN premium dog food (www.proplan.com).
